Capital Bike Share

In brief - this is a fun but expensive way to get around DC (see pricing here)

It was fun to ride around The National Mall with my sister-in-law, but unfortunately it ended up costing around $16 for riding just a little longer than an hour.  If you are local, however, you can pay around $100 for a yearly membership and if you're using it for increments of less than 30 minutes, you won't be charged the hourly usage prices.

What I will say is that it's much easier (and more fun) to get around The National Mall when you have a bicycle - except when pedestrians clog the sidewalks (sorry, I'm guilty of doing that when I walk with friends too).
