Tout de Sweet

Coryn and I popped into Tout de Sweet, a charming French-style bakery in Bethesda, on a rainy (and I mean RAINY) afternoon.  We each ordered hot chocolate and found a table for two in the back corner of the bakery. While drying off, we enjoyed the delicious pastries we purchased. We each bought a pain au chocolat (imagine a croissant with chocolate inside).  I ordered 2 macarons, orange blossom and dark chocolate, and Coryn enjoyed a lemon berry cupcake. The macarons were very flavorful, larger and cheaper than the macarons of Georgetown. Coryn was dying from the delicious buttercream frosting that had a fruity zing.

The very first pastry I ate in France was a pain au chocolat in a parking garage at Charles de Gaulle airport. My first bite into the pain au chocolat at Tout de Sweet took me right back to my first day in Paris and it was incredible. Coryn also remarked how authentic it tasted and was very impressed. On our way out we noticed a French family who had entered and asked them their thoughts. In a true French manner, the father told us it was the best on the East coast.
