Book Club! The Man in the High Castle

A couple of months ago, a girl at work told me she was reading a really interesting book called The Man in the High Castle. It is set in 1962 and tells the story of the world as if the Axis powers had won World War II instead of the Allies. I thought it sounded intriguing, added it to my list, and went through my day.

A couple of weeks later, I heard a commercial for an Amazon mini series based on the book, The Man in the High Castle. Whenever I hear that a book is going to be made into a movie/mini series, my interest instantly piques and I feel the need to rush and read it before the movie/mini series comes out. I'm also opposed to books with the movie poster as a cover, but that is something entirely different.

The mini series debuts November 20 on Amazon (free for Prime users) and Coryn and I thought it would be fun if we started a book club/mini series club. For the next 2 months, we will read the book and discuss. Then, we will watch the mini series and discuss. If you live in the area we can have a gathering to discuss the book. If you do not, we will have posts with questions and would invite you to share your thoughts/feelings. Neither of us have read this book, but we thought it would be fun to start a virtual book club of sorts since we both have family and friends all over. Comment below if you think you would like to participate. The book is 288 pages and I would recommend finding a copy soon. I'm on 2 library waitlists and I can only imagine the lists are going to get longer.

  3. Count me in. I have been so sad I couldn't link up with the original book club I was hoping to participate in when we moved to Salem, and am sorely missing it. I just got on the wait list at my library also. Hope it becomes available soon.

  4. I want to do this! I can't guarantee that I'll have anything to contribute, but I like reading books. Unless they're confusing. In which case, I will be lost and you guys can tell me what is happening.
